EXTENSION AND ADVISORY SERVICES

 

Tobacco Board is taking up the following extension and development initiatives to popularize Sustainable tobacco production (STP) practices in FCV tobacco cultivation in India and a holistic approach is adopted to achieve the ultimate aim of sustainability for overall development of the tobacco industry and sustenance of the environment for the future generations.

 

  1. Supply of critical crop inputs.
  2. Extension and Developmental Schemes for improvement of yield & quality of tobacco.
  3. Transfer of technology

I.SUPPLY OF CRITICAL CROP INPUTS:


i. FCV TOBACCO SEED:  

Board had facilitated the supply of approved varieties of seed through CTRI, Rajahmundry and ITC Research division, Rajahmundry to FCV tobacco growers in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The details of seed supplied during 2023-24 crop season are furnished below:

iii. Suckericides:

A quantity of 138207.50 lts of suckericide chemicals (suckerout, deconol, seeten) were supplied in Andhra Pradesh and 37215 lts were supplied in Karnataka for 2023-24 Crop season.
